Whereas there is a naturally a ceiling to how much ICED can invest in a particular business, it is difficult to give a figure now. It would depend upon how many business plans finally get selected and what will be their individual requirements.

Secondly, even if this figure was known, it is not a good idea to publicize it. The reason is that if it is know that the investment ceiling is, say, Rs.10 lacs, then a team who had a plan of, say, Rs. 1 crore, would try to water it down to Rs.10 lacs in the hope of making it to the final selection. This would naturally effect the plan's operational viability. On the other hand, a project that originally was being conceived at Rs.2 lacs would get bloated to Rs. 10 lacs. Both the actions are avoidable.

We suggest that you work on the most viable business plan with the best entry strategy. If the plan is really good, ICED will try its best for arranging the requisite funds.

The business plan can be in any area. For example, they could be in the field of Financial Services, Services Marketing, IT Enabled Services, Knowledge Management Services, Educational Services in Management, Web Services, Software and New Media Technologies, Life Sciences and Biotech, Alternative Energy, Appropriate Technology, Ecology And Environment Including Pollution Control and Rural Innovations etc. However, all other things being same, the plan with knowledge based idea will be preferred.
